ADVANTAGES of ACCREDITATION

ADVANTAGES OF THE American Association of Continuing Medical Education® ACCREDITATION

Education plays a vital role in the development of physicians and other healthcare physicians. Therefore, there is a premium on both quantity (increased access) and quality (relevance and excellence of medical education programs offered) of Continuing Medical Education and Continuing Professional Development.

Accreditation is a process of quality assurance and improvement, whereby a program in an approved Institution is critically appraised to verify that the Institution or the program continues to meet and exceed the Norms and Standards prescribed by the American Association of Continuing Medical Education® from time to time

The American Association of Continuing Medical Education® accreditation does not seek to replace the local CME currency system of award by local regulatory bodies. Rather, it provides quality assurance that the academic aims and objectives of the provider are rigorously pursuing and effectively adhering to by the American Association of Continuing Medical Education® current standards, and that the provider has demonstrated capabilities of ensuring effectiveness of the educational program(s), for the duration of the provider’s accreditation term.
